Suppression of evidence by flamebait 2006-11-19 12:55:59
The BBC reports that
Defence lawyers for the younger of two US sniper suspects have vowed to press for the suppression of alleged statements in which their client confesses to murder.
I think that this is atrocrious. I don't think any evidence should be suppressed, ever. If the cops screwed up, then punish the cops, but don't reward criminals for the mistakes of the police. Of course, how the evidence was obtained is relevant, so the jury should be made aware of any improprieties in the gathering of the evidence, but they should hear the evidence too.

What do you think?
