I don't understand why you included ignoring charities or people worse off than us, and racking up debt in that list.
The other ones require that we don't take personal responsibility. These require that we don't take responsibility for others.
If I wanted to rack up lots of debt, that wouldn't mean I wasn't taking personal responsibilty unless I wanted others to pay it off for me.
I can ignore charities and worse off people than me if I wish without losing my personal responsibility.
Frankly, I pay off my bills fully every month, but I don't give a dime to charities. Does that mean I have no personal responsibility? If I gave to charities, but had a huge personal debt that I covered the minimum payments on, what does that say?
(Actually, I might give, but it's so much trouble to figure out who is responsible enough to trust with my money.) |
