Many moons ago our English teached made us do a comparison with this one by Wilfred Owen (who was killed during WWI) and Rupert Brookes' "If I should Die" (who never went anywhere near the front line). It left me with an enormous appreciation of the works of Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon and a huge contempt of Brookes work.
