Lest we ever forget. by Rogerb0rg2002-11-11 02:52:05
  I read that poem by syren 2002-11-11 03:03:23
at school - it always made me so sad.

yesterday was rememberance sunday here and i watched it all from beginning to end for the first time - glad i did - i can understand why we have it now - next year i will wear my poppy.

Do not stand beside my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight;
I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand beside my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

~~~ Mary E.Frye, 1932 ~~~
