but at the same time, I think people should take time out enjoy something that's a little out of the ordinary.

I remember a while back, I posted something about how cool the sky looked in the evening with all the clouds, blah blah blah, and someone came back with "Big deal. I see that crap all the time" type of stuff.

Well, taking 5 seconds to enjoy something like that, or stopping for ice cream, or whatever is a good thing (imho).

I'm not, however, supporting the idea that you always have to be doing something. I know people who spend all their free time camping, skiing, hiking, blah blah blah, and when you say "I have no interest in that" they freak out. They also have nothing else to say. They're so busy "living" that they're incredibly boring people.

There's a great book called "Faster: The acceleration of just about everything" by James Gleick that talks about this type of thing. The "days become shorter" type of crap that drives me up a wall. When did we have a 30 hour day and what strange natural force is at work that's causing this loss of hours?

Moderation is the key. Take care of your responsibilities, but make time to enjoy the little things too. Unless of course, you don't like the little things, then just go on about your day.
