Safety concerns aside, there is nothing i'd rather do than riding. That's decent mileage you are getting, I certainly do not get that on my Beemer - more like 40mpg ( and to thaink one of the reasons for teh bike was for better mielage). However, the cruising speeds i enjoy may have something to do with that. I have hit 50 mpg crossing through the Green Mountain Park, North to South, on unpaved roads in the fall of 2000. Couldn't hit a faster speed than 40mph there. You took you riding course yet?
