...two different things. They are related, as they are typically both roades that lead from one place to another place, typically going in-between cities, towns and villages. They are also typically named by number.
Most highways are posted at 55 Mph, most Interstates/Freeways are posted at 70 outside of cities and 65 within city limits. Yeah, it is semantics.
I also never stated that I drive at 55mph. Actually, on the ride to the office, I am only able to go as fast as 50mph (no Interstate/Freeway leads to the office.) As for being ticketed for impeding the flow of traffic by driving 55Mph... That wouldn't happen on a two-lane Interstate/Freeway as the minimum posted speed is 45mph. If you fit inbetween 45 and 70mph, you suffer no tickets.
I live in the Motor City. There are just about more cars in this metropolitan area then anywhere else. There are also more freeways then just about anywhere else to. Mostly due to the lack of public transportation. That has to do with the fact that this is the Motor City and there was some back-room deals that kept a public transit system, like New York's Subway or Chicago's Trains from existing in Detroit. Everyone will own a car or something to that effect, was the cry about 80 some years ago.
Why would someone want to rear-end someone that was driving the speed limit? Does nobody watch where they are driving where you live? Sounds slightly more dangerous then the "Detroit Autobahn Drivers" on one of our illustrious freeways. |
