Having worked in the "powersports" industry for a number of years, I've also lost a few friends... some due to their own stupidity, the others due to the carelessness and inattention of of those who, wrapped in the "security" of a steel cocoon, decided that they could live with voluntary manslaughter because it's apparently easier than actually paying attention and being responsible for ones actions.
I'm very sorry for the loss you and your friends family incurred, and I don't want to make light of it.
It helps me to remember that EVERY single person I know who has lost their life on a motorcycle had one thing in common -- they were actually LIVING, as opposed to those who despite having a pulse and respiration, are just going through the motions, hoping they are safe and praying that, if the government could just legislate all the risk out of life, they could "exist" forever. Sorry, I'd still rather be ALIVE. |
