pet weener-dog at an early age. I can feel his pain. Personally, I would prefer a more objective measure: take statistics as an approach. Were some one to toss 50 turkeys from a low-flying helicopter, that would be abusive. To stick one dog into one's pocket sounds like someone's looking for more fun than can be had with a gerbil. It's just not enough to get worked up over.
