Realise too late that your SO is exceedingly drunk. Take her back to her flat and sit with her until her flatmates get back from the party and you can go get some sleep. Get woken by her an hour later because she's worried that you disappeared. Listen to her moan about how she'll never drink again. Recipe for a stressful evening out.
