I've dated a few jerks sure(and married one but his fully jerkyness didn't shine through til after I married him). Most were sweet guys who were geeks and nerds. I have problems telling when a guy likes me unless he's quite blunt or I have to be the forward one and make a move. When I made a move regarding two well ok one(the other got drunk to get up the nerve to ask me) turned out they were poly and good friends and didn't mind my dating both of them. Another one took awhile to ask me out as I was hanging out with his bro and close friends with the bro in question. Then later he started proposing but I was too young to think on things like that and we grew apart. When I broke up with him I ended up getting back with him because I felt so awful with him crying and stuff... I really don't like hurting people. He realized though that it wasn't going to work and let me break up with him the second time. He was really sweet. Only time he got on my bad side was when he hit a bus with my dads truck and wouldn't take responsibility for it at the level he said he was going to. :/
Actually 2 other guys online that are very shy, geeks, good guys/sweet, I used to like quite a bit. I didn't tell one til after I was with my current SO that I used to like him. I think it had been mutual because he used to ask in a hinting way if I was with my ex bf still(when yes I was still with that ex bf). He's not poly and I don't feel that way about him anymore so we aren't involved just dear friends. The other guy I feel close friendship too and if we lived closer(he'd never move from where he lives and it's another country) who knows what might of developed.(he's very openminded, but incredibly shy, protective of me and fond of me. He has admitted to the protective and fond part and that he isn't sure what he feels... but couldn't leave where he lives.)
Anyways weather I'm in a poly or mono relationship(I've had both types and had good and bad moments with both as well) I tend to go for the sweet, shy, introverted, ever so geeky types. I don't like the loud extroverts that are just "bad boy" kinda dudes. They turn me right off and if anything scare the heck out of me. |
