Since candles burn oxygen (and often make offensive smells, especially when extinguished), I usually prefer to do without them. BUT, at the same time, I have this plan to take some oak logs and drill holes in them, which will serve as candle holders, then stick them in my fireplaces so that my Florida house can have what appears to be warm, romantical-type fires without the heat!
