I've got tons of floss and not much cloth by tigermouse 2002-11-01 15:12:50
I got my grandma's floss when she died, and keep it stocked. I made a tapestry with all chain stitch, in the style of the Bayeux tapestry but the image is based on an illuminated manuscript page. I tend to use a coarse linen instead of aida, though, I supposed because I can use for other stuff, like cut-work and drawn-thread work- I used to do a lot of white work. I used to sew a lot, too, but not so much now. A good pattern might be just the thing... I have been knitting and crocheting a lot, I just finished a huge grocery bag. Scarf for hubby needs to be done soon, a gorgeous natural gray alpaca. I love wool, it would just kill me to be allergic!
