1) reality: that which is.
2) reality: that which is perceived.
To me, those are equivalent, although 2 is a bit clearer. As for 1: How do we determine what is? Perception. Can we ever determine "that which is" outside of our own perceptions? No. We can gain a more coherent version of reality by combining multiple perceptions, since there are no independent observers within our universe.
Reality is dependent upon my (and others) perception, so I could be nothing more than a computer program, although, since this is not verified by multiple perceptions, I do not accept this as a coherent perception of reality.
How can we seperate reality from perception? |
