the relation was because I didn't think it important, but I believe, as you've stated, that reasoning ability is at least partially based on knowledge.
As for whether or not "actual" and "factual" are interchangeable, they aren't always, but are sometimes, depending on how one is using them. I thought it would be easier to argue that even if you did substitute one for the other in this case, it wouldn't make any difference as to what "truth" or "reality" is, than to argue that this is not one of the cases of interchangeability. Perhaps if I'd thought of your example, I would have taken that tack. |
