I tend to think that knowledge includes an ability to apply deductive and inductive reasoning. Expertise comes when a person can accurately apply abductive reasoning.

Let me try something a little different. Tigermouse, your citing of the dictionary gave as its first definition as "The quality or state of being actual or true". If you accept that the word actual is replacable with the word factual or fact. Then my point is that something may be true without being a fact. Which is fully supported by the dictionary definition. Since, if they were equivelent there would be no reason to use the "or" conjunction.
