it really isn't necessary to publicly call someone an an idiot, especially if you are convinced that said person has proven it with no help from you. Let the discussion be it's own witness, and think well enough of your audience that you don't spell everything out.
As for the rules, I don't think Robert's rules are about "winning," but about decorum. Sincere insults, in contrast to playful ones, lower the tone of the debate and make it less enjoyable for all but those evil schadenfreude types, may they rot in heck ;-p |
