on the flipside, i have a complementary definition of "truth". i personally define 'truth' as "that which a person believes to be so." a good example of this is in Jordan's Wheel of Time. Aes Sedai can speak no word which is not true. but if they believe something is true (even though it's really a lie), they can lie away.

but your definition of "lie" doesn't account for lies of omission. how do you handle that?
