Other than x86 processors everything else is at far slower clocks.
500MHz apple isn't 1/4 of the speed of a 2G P4. Not by a long way.

The P4 was designed with one thing in mind, to bury AMD in the MHz war. I worked. As long as intel can keep people thinking MHz=performance then they win. Educating the public is impossible which is why AMD try to hide the actual clock speed these days.

Unfortunatly all the "technical" press like pointing out the clock speeds and so comusumers think that it actually matters.
Same as with DDR RAM, they now use silly numbers for the different speeds or claim that it's twice the clock speed that it actually is. Why do they do this? Because it's easier then trying to explain that at the same speed it goes twice as fast (but the same latency) as normal SDRAM.
