Another thing you can shoot at him, is Intels use of a single front side bus on dual processor machines.

AMD uses a dual front side bus setup, so while both archatectures are running efficiently with only one processor, AMD runs much more efficiantly than Intel does with dual processor.

Then you layer ontop of htat the Internal Processing Clock (IPC)... :)

Intel took the route of sending datat at more frequent intervals. This raises the clock speed, which increases power consumption and generates heat (hence hte large heatsinks).

AMD took the route of sending more information per transfer, which lowers heat production and decreases power consumption.
