That's the crux of the matter. Someone who has your e-mail addy in thier address box has Klez. That persons infection is sending Klez mail which spoofs your addy as either the receipent (you get the junk) or sender (you get the virus alerts, the spam alerts, etc, from automated AV response, irate receipents, or < clueful admins). The only response you might have is to track the sender via the headers, or enlist one of those admins to track it for you.
The biggest thing will be to convince the clueless Klez patient that thier computer is infected, and they need to get it fixed. Especially because most of them think that their desktop AV is protecting them, when in reality, the first thing Klez did was turn that off. |
