The story is about unborn twins.
As they grow and notice their surroundings within the womb, they "worship" the mother who gives them nourishment through the "cord of life"
As time passes, they come to realise that being born is inevitable and they are frightened. And they wonder is there is anything after birth. One argues there must be, but the other points out that no one has ever come back from birth to tell about it.
They grow fearful and despondent.
As is inevitable, they get born, and what they find on the other side is beyond their wildest dreams.

Sorry, I probably missed bits, but my German isn't very good.
