| Virus spoofing "virus detected" warning? |

Just recieved this from "av-notify@va******lt.edu":
-----
(10/17/2002 20:42:44) Warning: The email message containing file: out
that you sent to jarrod.smith@va******lt.edu
contains the virus WORM_KLEZ.H.
-----
(those splats are to stop spiders grabbing the address - not a rude domain)
Thing is, this came to my webmail address, and I'm running an up-to-date version of Norton AV 2002, and done a full scan. I've followed Symantec's broadcast on KLEZ, and I have no "RunOnce" registry keys. And I've never send mail or recieved mail from ANY address at that domain. All my other mail is done in Mozilla with scripting disabled (and no, I don't merrily open any old attachment).
So is this a worm spoofing this message, like all those "your message could not be delivered" ones? |
