| that's true, the mental "ewww yuck" people carry around will take time to ease. maybe even generations. thirty years ago, mixed-race couples were just barely acceptable on the fringes of society. it's still controversial in places, but it's actually been made into movies by Hollywood and shown in a positive light. that's progress. same with homosexuality. there are almost no gay stories in mainstream entertainment, but there are gay characters. and that's progress. it just takes time, and sometimes the personal realization that someone you know and love already as a dear friend or relative is gay. they're not a different person than they were before, just gay. |
