we had to deal with the FLQ when I was a child. It still exists but has stopped blowing up things in canada.(car bombs and stuff) They were quebec seperationists if I remember right. Many other places have had to deal with like violence. We've had to deal with gang wars on occasion as well as people from asia or the middle east bringing vendetta fights in. However all the same they don't do profiling except of people that are known to hang out with a questionable person or had contact with them. Then it's a check first I think on the person and if it looks like more full profiling.

I wasn't not finger print profiled. But I believe I've been otherwise profiled. It was done because I had to work with someone on the witness protection program years ago. Also because I've had contact with at least one person who has nationally sensitive material they deal with at work. But beyond that they've never directly approached me because I have no history of things and no legal record for various stuff. So they've not got to what they have for others that was mentioned in this news article.

The woman that was taken aside also had no criminal record afik, or history of involvement with any questionable people. Yet she was due to her birth origins dragged aside publicly, pictures taken, finger prints, etc... infront of aquaintences, etc. Like she was some criminal or had done something wrong. And also whose to say what they will do with the info they keep on record once they gather it. It's making innocent people feel like criminals etc and feel like they are under watch.
