| I've flown to Memphis, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Charlotte all since 9/11/01. These are all domestic flights. I have nothing to hide. I've been profiled. I've been searched. Because I deal with high security areas at work, I've been through all of this before. When I travel on business, I take my laptop (along with assorted cables). I've had my belongings dumped on the table and rifled through. I've had to remove my shoes. In Phoenix, I was taken aside and asked to strip down completely. One of the security guards was suspicious of a device in my bag. It was a power converter that provides you with a low amperage 120VAC receptacle from a car lighter. Sure, it was awkward... but if it keeps these relgious zealots from blowing up any more people/planes, I'm all for it.
ohh.. and yes, I am aware of white terrorists. Growing up in Oklahoma gives me a stronger feeling against Timothy McVeigh than most other people have/had for him. What bothers me most about him, besides the number of innocent people he killed, was the fact that he was once a decorated member of the US Army. |
