homosexuality, as far as anyone can tell scientifically at this point is a lot nature, and at least somewhat nurture. most twin studies have shown both twins to be gay. but not all. etc.

speaking purely frome my personal experience, which i know is not valid for anyting in psychological circles, i think i might have it mostly from my dad's side of the family. but i can't say that my formative experiences had nothing to do with it... i can see plenty of ways in which i was shaped to this. i do know and can state unequivocally that it wasn't an active choice. i tried really hard for a really long time not to be gay, and it very nearly killed me.
