And playing God implies the ability to not only take life, but to give it. Plenty of people have shown they can take life. OBL doesn't seem to think he is God. That idea would probably offend him terribly (not that I care). The real problem is that he and his followers seem to think he speaks for God. Sort of like with Jerry Falwell or others of his ilk.
