Beg borrow or steal the $$ to visit Perth and attend The Australian Linux Conference .. and check out our beaches, our desert, our beaches, our tall trees (down south), our beaches, our coffee-houses, our beaches, our pubs, our beaches, our Swan Rver (very pretty), our beaches, our food, ....oh, and did I mention the beaches? :)

Try to convince your employers/schools that a visit would be fantastic professional development. Then you can say you have been to the most isolated capital city in the world.
