I've heard lots of fantastic stuff about it but haven't had the chance to try it. I imagine it's absolutely wonderful!

The freshness part probably had a lot to do with the taste of the coffee you had down there, but part of me also thinks that it's because it was guaranteed to be 100% South American (not blended with standard beans). I'd suggest going to a small gormet coffeehouse (not Starbucks....no offense to the Bucks--they make good coffee but it's mainstream. I'm talking small, private, out of the way coffee place with a staff that really knows their coffees) and ask about their South American beans. I had a cup of Mexican brew yesterday that was out of this world. I usually don't take coffee black, but to put anything in this cup to doctor it would have been criminal. A place with good suppliers will be able to replicate that cup you had in Peru--no doubt about that.
