My days with the iMac are almost over by Dazed 2002-10-14 01:31:09
kinda ironic that on Thanksgiving Day I have to give up the iMac I've had in my place since Friday to it's rightful owner. That doesn't exactly make me thankful. Well, I guess my mom will be thankful to have internet (and a decent computer) again but still ...

Oh well! One thing I thought was very odd is that it came with Jaguar discs but I had to install it myself. So now I have OS 9, x.1 and x.2 on the thing (not to mention the BSD undercoating). Pretty soon the darn hard drive will be full just of OS's! Does this seem odd to anyone else? Also, the fact that it took about 2 hours to install seemed a little excessive ...

Ah well, I think the poor machine is relegated to a life of solitaire and email anyway so it's not such a loss (yeah, i suppose if mom really just wanted to play solitaire she should have gone with a Windows machine but macs are sooooooo much nicer!).

Well, I'm going to try not to pout as I pack this beautiful (and super quiet) machine back up. I hope all the other Canadians have a great Thanksgiving and everyone else just has a great day in general.

I'd love to hear what anyone else thinks of the iMacs and Jaguar in general. (ie, am I going to be getting late-night tech support calls?) Thanks!

By the way, decided to stay with the cheap, no-lightning protection surge protector since I think we have a bad ground on our phone line so paying more for a better warrentee wouldn't pay out anyway.
