The data track form is different for one: PDF of Comparison, coutesy of Verbatim.com The DVD+RW/+R drives I've seen will NOT record onto DVD-RW/-R media. However, any DVD+RW/+R media that is recorded on the drive supposedly can be read on all DVD drives, regardless of the standard. And DVD+RW/+R drives can read DVD-RW/-R media. Ricoh DVD+RW/+R drive, Look at very bottom of spec list. Hope this helps. :)
