I installed Dead Rat 8.0, and all I got was by adiplomat2002-10-03 23:02:50

I spit upon your feedble "default installer" and install things myself from the command line (using ALT-F2 or ALT-F3 to get to a bash prompt). Now that RH 8.0 is available, I'll download it at work and use a coworker's CD burner to get it home. I like Redhat (probably since I've been using it since version 4.1, any other die-hard Linux users from the good-ol-days?), but recently their component policy has begun to annoy me (like nslookup and Enlightenment becoming depreciated, wtf?). The "ease-of-use" infiltration has become more and more disruptive to the way I compute in the past few years, and I've frequently found myself drawn to the Dark Side of creating my own Linux/GNU distribution. Fortunately, procrastination keeps me from doing so. :)
