Sorry, I was serious when I asked what's wrong with it. I've been using Redhat for years, so I'm used to all of it's quirks, so they don't really seem out of place to me until someone else mentions it.

Those are valid points, particularly the /etc/sysconfig directory, which, as far as I know, is unique to Redhat.
