Kevin Mitnick was a renowned hacker who got cocky and got caught. He was found guilty of computer nastiness, and his sentence included banishment from the internet, banishment from profiting from his story (although SOMEBODY got paid for all those Free Kevin! bumper stickers), and at some point, banishment from computers altogether.
