Namely the lack of nice tools in a text based version. The main reason I run Linux is for servers and I don't want to use X to add a fscking user.

I happen to use Mandrake because all of its tools are smart enough to check the DISPLAY variable and switch to text based if it's not set.

My firewall, however, is Slackware since I can tell it not to install X at all. It's only got a 300Meg HD in it.
