We only know adiplomat's side of the story - which means it could be quite different than he's telling us, or it could be the same. Depends on how accurately he's able to post.

But without other input, we _cannot_ speculate how much he's added personal bias, and we _also_ cannot misinterpret what he explicitly said.

Two years since the last verifiable "issue", and one alleged issue today do not constitute a "known problem".

Not being allowed to present one's case means that the boss doesn't care about the truth - he has an agenda. If the agenda is merely to suck up to the other managers, then Dippy may be safe. If the agenda is worse than that, Dippy needs to gather any evidence he can get and prepare for the worst.

These are the people who will hinder your ability to get another job if you let them get away with that.

I can't recommend the best course of action, but I can tell that criticism of Dippy based on his post is entirely unwarranted!
