Primitives might have figured out how to make alcohol by letting stuff ferment in animal skins or bladders, but it probably didn't taste too good..because of the effects it might have been kept as a secret of the tribal chiefs or shamans too. More likely early (c. 8000 BC) farmers figured out how to make low grade wine after their grape juice started to go bad. 8-)
