My wife used to manage a nursing home, and one of the staff assaulted her. /She/ was hauled over the coals, because the assault "proved" she failed to manage the situation.
In the end, she was disiplined and demoted because her boss missed an abuse case whilst she was on leave. Before the hearing, the hearing judge (her boss's boss) wrote to her staff and clients specifically requesting evidence against her. She wasn't told before the hearing what the charge against her was, so at the hearing she didn't have the evidence that it was her accuser, not her, in charge at the time of the abuse. The appeal ruled that she was not permitted to introduce new evidence and that it would only consider whether the punishment was commensurate with the previous findings.
The good news is that she sued for constructive dismissal, and they didn't even put up a defence.
Why does sh** always float to the top?
