Well, this week is turning out perfectly ducky! by adiplomat2002-10-03 06:37:12
Not having it on your record and it.... by nelzie 2002-10-03 07:44:59
...being a "known issue" are two different things. You might not be aware, but offices are worse then High School, when it comes to people talking about other people.

Pretty much anything that you say or do to anyone else in the corporation spreads like wildfire across all levels of management. I remember when I was working in BIG corporate America. I was in good with my manager and always did my very best to be as friendly and amicable as possible.

I was on the help desk too and many managers in other parts of the corporation, that never interacted with me, knew who I was. They knew this because Managers talk to eachother about the shining employees and also about the not-so-shining employees.

Obviously, the attitude that you give off to the people you deal with is very well known and discussed in the hallways around the corporation.

Now you have two choices, find a new job or read Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and see what you can do to salvage your name within the corporation you work for.

Also, you might want to get off your high-horse about thinking you deserve a medal for being a Helpdesk. That shows a certain arrogance that probably shows in your dealings with the people you support on the phone and interact with in your immediate area.
