Here's a stumper...
I log into Outlook at work from home using the OWA. The choice of browsers is thus: IEeeee :) 6.something and Mozilla 1.0
Up until a recent rebuild of the server, IE got in just fine. I never thought to try Mozilla before the rebuild because IE always worked. :/
After the rebuild:
IE stopped working. I set the work domain to "trusted" and cookies to "allow all" and it still didn't work. I shut down ZoneAlarm (which, oddly enough, hadn't changed in IT'S settings, except for adding the new server name to IT'S trusted zone and removing the old one) and IE worked just fine.
Mozilla works just fine, both with AND without the firewall. IF it identifies as Mozilla. Set it to ID as IE, and it has the same problem IE does.
Yea, I can hear the peanut gallery - "Use Mozilla!" *laughs* I already decided that, so no problems there. :)
I just don't know why IE doesn't work and Mozilla does! I'm stumped, the LAN guy at work is stumped, apparently I'm the *only* weenie with this problem. :/ (Just my luck, eh?)
NetBios is turned off on my machine, but it's always been turned off and it didn't make a difference before. :/
A friend of mine was in town a couple weekends ago, listened to my tale, and said something about "lan man authentication"...? (I don't know if I"m remembering it right.) What is it? Is it the cause of the problem? If so, how can I tell the guy at work about it without making him feel stupid? (I really hate making people feel stupid if I can avoid it...maybe it's a fault, but I like to think of it as a positive thing.)
TIA,
