here as they have most distribs iso's you can download, burn to cd, and install all for free. Though they can also ship you for cheap the disks as well. Here is a site on various distribs. Personally I recommend mandrake as it is good for newbies(reasonabl install that isn't too hard, etc and easy enough to naviagte). Even if you don't go with mandrake check out their demo page as it has a bunch of animations and instruction on linux things in the desktops.(alot of the things apply to all linux versions though a few things are mandrake specific. The animations are animated gifs)... Oh and btw alot of public libraries have books on linux and some of those have free linux cd's in them which you can use to install linux. You sometimes though have to ask the librarian for the cd that goes with the book because sometimes they keep them seperate to prevent damage to the disks.(beware though the books/disks might be out of date but once installed you could always update your *nix version)
