yea it gives good exposure in one way by Arienadean 2002-09-29 01:18:14
but in another might get a niave windows user to try it then they find out they are over their head and it isn't what they thought...(which might turn them off linux in the long run unfortunately)

Personally if people want *nix and have had some exposure they probably would be better off getting a distrib/varient of *nix that has been out longer... and to just get active with wine stuff. Though I guess for newbies lindows has it's place as does that redmond linux(its under a new name now forget what it's called now though... Naruki pointed it out one day on the board however) Though I think those are maybe just themed like windows... If they took mandrake and default themed kde to windows... well it probably would be easy for them to use and familiar.<shrug>

/me once did try the windows theme in kde, including sounds and amusingly a few people did have to take a second look and thought it was windows and not linux. Similar can be said of when using the mac theme.
