Ohio is fairly nice... by The_Fool76 2002-08-28 12:59:12
but once you get away from the lake it is pretty dull (and flat)

Near the lake, the terrain is fairly hilly and scenic. That and Cleveland is next to the lake as well. (Cleveland - the mistake by the lake ;-)

I happened to grow up in NE Ohio in the snow capital of the state, (Chardon - capital of Geauga County - east of Cleveland) so I am probably biased.

One of my pet peeves is people who think that all of Ohio is flat, around my neck of the woods, if you want flat you have to go to the lake.

Ceder Point is one of the great attractions of Ohio. It is a world renowned amusement park known for it's coasters. (If you like coasters, your life is not complete without a trip to the Point)

Ohio also seems to be a fairly popular summer spot for people from Florida. (Then again, Florida is a popular winter spot for many people from Ohio, go figure)

If you are into wines, a nice scenic trip to the Islands in the NE is in order.

For those of you who are into ancient history Ohio is home to a number of Indian Mounds, including the Great Snake Mound. (of course most of the mounds are in the southern part of the state, closer to the Ohio river.

Lets see, what other nifty facts do I know about Ohio?
Oh yeah, I think someone else already mentioned this but the river that runs through Cleveland caught fire TWICE. (lake Erie used to be the most poluted of the great lakes but now it is the cleanest)

Last but not least. Big Chuck and Little John. (The less I say about those two nutcases the better)
