I was thinking of doing something simmilar, but I was planning on purchasing a wireless mouse or trackball and keyboard. Both logitech and msoft make them. MS specifies that they keyboard works 6 ft away... but nothing about the mouse. Another cool thing to look into for a setup like this is the ATI TV Wonder. It is available as a USB device or pci card and it makes your computer have some tivo like abilities. CV
