The cables were molecular monofilament, as I recall, or something similar, since true molecular monofilament would have sliced through whatever it was bound to.

A 2000 ft long yoyo string, by the way, would be a pretty huge coil. I think in most cases you would break your finger just trying to lift it with a single finger. Unless of course you used something like modified spider silk, which would simply slice it off. ;)
