You gave up too easily, and you're at least as correct as I am, if not more. I went back and reread your initial post and the follow ups and realize that you did qualify your idea with the word perception several times. WTF was I reading?
Anyway, sorry for the almost complete misunderstanding. I knew your point was that perception is subjective, but you said "the color red has no real existence outside of our own perception". I believe that is specifically wrong, because colors as wavelengths can actually be measured with great precision (as you already noted). Just because our perceptions may be flawed does not mean those wavelengths, and the labels we give them, aren't precise. |
