Am I the only one who has ever thought about tying a really long cable to the bottom of a satellite, which would then be moved into an unnnaturally high orbit?

With the cable bound to the ground, and the satellite's high orbit tending to make it try to pull away from the earth, would you not then have a taut line running straight up from wherever it was tied down, which you could simply climb up to get into space?

Sorta like swinging a yoyo around in circles by the string and letting an ant crawl from your hand to the yoyo.
