then they are the very ones we as a society need to keep out of the bars, the drivers seats, the gambling halls, etc.. The problem with granting privilege based solely on age is not just that it discriminates unfairly against those below the chosen age who have the maturity to handle the privilege, but also that it grants the privilege to those who reach the chosen age whether they can handle it or not. Provisions would have to be made for those with communication problems, but that is a managable problem and not really relevant to the issues at hand.
