Terminal velocity of an average yo-yo is upwards of 120 mph, unless I'm imagining physics class. :)

I forget how long it takes a yo-yo to reach that speed however, but at 2,000 ft (closing in on half a mile) it's going pretty fast. So, depending on the thickness of the string, you could very easily snap your finger or lose the end of it outright.

And wouldn't THAT be embarassing to explain to the ER doctor?
